body
Fiscal Impact:
None.
Summary:
City Staff has received resignations from two committee members: Tiffany Campbell has submitted her resignation from the Arts and Culture Committee and Kelli Gallion-Sholler has submitted her resignation from the Community Safety and Welfare Committee. Ms. Campbell's term on the Arts and Culture Committee was set to expire in June 2027 and Ms. Gallion-Sholler's term on the Community Safety and Welfare Committee was also set to expire in June 2027.
The Arts and Culture Committee consists of seven members and meets quarterly and the Community Safety and Welfare Committee consists of seven members and meets bi-monthly.
The City Council interviews and appoints individuals to all City Commissions and Committees in June of each calendar year, with terms effective beginning on July 1 of the same calendar year. The Arts and Culture Committee will hold two meetings before City Council schedules interviews and makes appointments in June 2026. The Community Safety and Welfare Committee will hold four meetings before City Council schedules interviews and makes appointments in June 2026.
At this time, Staff recommends that the City Council provide direction to the City Clerk to either leave the position(s) vacant until the June 2026 interviews or publish the vacancies, accept applications and schedule an interview date.
Council Options:
* Leave the Arts and Culture Committee seat vacant until the June 2026 interviews and appointments.
* Leave the Community Safety and Welfare Committee seat vacant until the June 2026 interviews and appointments.
* Direct staff to solicit applications for one or both Committees and schedule an interview date.
* Take no action.
